If you don't have an even planting ledge or don't like seeing planting baskets then these could provide a solution. The planting socks as the name suggests are flexible rot resistant geotextile material socks, which can be filled with aquatic soil and sealed. Plants can then be located in the soil via the opening along the top. The design leads to less soil spills, lays well over uneven surfaces and will contain the roots.

They work well enough, but as others have said, the fastenings aren't good. It needs ties rather than posters.

Maybe a different fastener would be better. Good size though and fits more naturally on a planting shelf that's a bit uneven or too shallow for a rigid basket.
