The corrugation of the 38mm (1½") Heavy Duty flexible hose contains strengtheners which allow the hose to be flexible and strong but will not kink in most pond installations. This is complimented by a thicker wall thickness which produces a smooth internal wall for reduced friction and better flowrate. The 38mm (1½") Heavy Duty flexible hose is black for easy concealment and this also discourages growth of algae on the inside, which can, long term, lead to a reduction in the hose diameter and thus affect the pumps performance. The increased wall thickness slightly reduces the flexibility but increases its strength, this allows it to handle up to 3 bar of pressure. When using flexible pipework we recommend the use of Stainless Steel Jubilee Clips to ensure a secure and leak free installation.
